With less than two weeks left to go before the Redskins’ opening kickoff, we’re kicking things back in to high gear at theHogs.net. It’s been a whirlwind first offseason for the website with our new message board, our exclusive draft section, player profiles, the Ken Harvey Football Fan Classic and the 2003 training camp. We’ve been busy, but we’re getting ready to be really busy again as the season starts.
If you’re new to the website, we will be bringing you exclusive articles almost every day written by the volunteer staff at the-Hogs.net. The 5th Quarter, Sun Tzu , The Cheap Seats, Scooter’s 6 Pack and Game Day Matchups will all be returning this season as well as some new weekly columns. We hope that you enjoy the content and we always welcome any comments or suggestions.
We have added a lot of new features to the site. We added a transaction log, and a How the Redskins Were Built page to the Team Info page. We also archived all of last year’s articles into the new exclusives database. Make sure you always check the exclusives page to read the latest the-Hogs.net article or to search for your favorite past one.
We also took our already incomparable Redskins News Section and made it better. All the Redskins News that’s Fit to Link… and all in one place.
Message Board
Perhaps the biggest addition in the offseason was the message board. As the-Hogs.net community grew, so did the need for a message board. We used it extensively to try and bring you real time training camp reports, and we will continue to post pictures there. You must register to see the photos, but registration is free and will also grant you access to all of the forums. With membership quickly climbing, it is a great place to just hang out and talk about the Redskins. We also set up a Public Service Announcement forum that is strictly for bringing your attention to official Redskin and NFL events. If you represent an official Redskin function, and would like to promote the function on our website, just send us an e-mail. We also made the message board easy to get to, by adding links to the latest board posts at the bottom of the main page of the website. We look forward to getting to know anyone that bleeds burgundy and gold there!!
F2FA
We are also excited to announce a new affiliation with the Fan 2 Fan Alliance (F2FA). F2FA is a network of die hard fan sites just like ours. They choose one website per NFL team and we were honored to be selected. For most weeks of the regular season, we will be linking up to an F2FA site where you can go and get all of the information that you need about the opposition. We hope you enjoy the new resource. We will also be entertaining the enemy in the message boards, so we set up a Talking Smack forum just in case things get a little, ahem… heated.
There are many more things on the horizon as this website grows in leaps and bounds. We just wanted to enhance your visits here by making you aware of all of the new items, and we thank you for visiting the-Hogs.net.
Hail to the Redskins!
