NFL fans would think that with the draft less than 48 hours away that perhaps the top of the selection board would be clearer. But that’s not the case. Conventional wisdom has the 49ers taking quarterback Alex Smith, but signing him to a contract seems to be a possible problem that the San Francisco don’t want to face. We’re sticking with Edwards despite what the ‘experts’ say.
But the number of possibilities for the first three picks are enormous and that makes the 2005 draft even tougher than usual to predict. After all, the top 3 obviously drastically shape the rest of the first round.
