Hognostications: Week 5

News Washington Commanders

The Broncos beat the Jags on the road after a short week? The Chargers pound the World Champs at home after a disappointing start to the season? You’ve got to appreciate the parity in this league. It makes picking winners a crapshoot. Norv, once again, tried to ruin the day, but thanks to the Raiders and Bledsoe for making it a wonderful Sunday!

New England at Atlanta
Can the Patriots have a loosing record going into week 6? You bet they can.
Pick – Falcons

Miami at Buffalo
Phins win in a close one, making it four losses in a row for the Bills.
Pick – Dolphins

Chicago at Cleveland
The rested Brownies enjoy the home cooking.
Pick – Browns

Baltimore at Detroit
The Lions will struggle against the Raven defense.
Pick – Ravens

New Orleans at Green Bay
The near-comeback Monday night will give the Pack enough momentum and pride to win their first in five tries. Of course some cold weather would help.
Pick – Packers

Tennessee at Houston
It appears the Texans have fixed some of their problems on defense.
Pick – Texans

Tampa Bay at New York Jets
The QB carousel will continue this week for the Jets, as Testaverde makes his return. It’ll be a long day, with Curtis Martin struggling to take off the pressure. Spires and Rice will have fun.
Pick – Bucs

Seattle at St. Louis
The Seahawks prove they’re better than their .500 record.
Pick – Seahawks

Indianapolis at San Francisco
The Colts are 14-point favorites. Tempting, but the straight-up pick has to be the Colts.
Pick – Colts

Carolina at Arizona
Steve Smith and DeShaun Foster will challenge the Cardinals banged up secondary, which just lost Antrel Rolle for the season.
Pick – Panthers

Philadelphia at Dallas
Philthy is down to 3 DTs, including Patterson, who is a rookie. Look for those guys to get tired. It would be fun to see Man-Boob’s reaction if the Pukes lost three out of their last four.
Pick – Pukes

Washington at Denver
This ought to be a great game. If Chump doesn’t return, the Broncos could start two rookie corners. If the Redskin defense continues to play the way that it has, Skins win.
Pick – Redskins

Cincinnati at Jacksonville
The Bengals continue to roll. Palmer and the Bengal offense are playing very well. Meanwhile the Jags defense has fallen off.
Pick – Bengals

Pittsburgh at San Diego
This ought to be another great game. LT already has eight TDs, and the Charger offense seems to be getting into gear. Will that change against the stingy Steeler defense?
Pick – Steelers

Last Week’s Results: 9-5
Season To Date: 36-24
