Now that’s more like it! What a great, long-awaited win against Philthy, with or without TO. It serves me right to miss only that game. I should have picked with my heart and had more faith in Coach Gibbs and his staff to have our guys focused and confident after the New York debacle. It is so great to start to see home field advantage at Fed Ex Field. It’s been way too long.
Two other items worth mentioning – 1) What a gutsy call by Vermeil, but do we really have to see him cry again? 2) If in fact Wayne Chrebet’s career is over, congratulations to him on a wonderful career and thanks to him from all of us who enjoyed watching him play.
Kansas City at Buffalo
Larry Johnson will run all over the Bills.
Pick – Chiefs
San Francisco at Chicago
The Bears great defense, deep backfield and home field advantage equals another ‘W’. Lovie Smith is doing a great job, and if the Bears continue to play as well as they have, he could be a leading Coach of the Year candidate.
Pick – Bears
Arizona at Detroit
The “Who Cares?” pick of the week.
Pick – Lions
Houston at Indianapolis
Think the ’72 Phish are getting nervous? Surely they’ll be cheering the Bengals next weekend.
Pick – Colts
Baltimore at Jacksonville
Another QB change in Baltimore, back to Boller, can’t be a good thing for Raisin fans. The Jags can’t score many points, but score enough to win.
Pick – Jaguars
New England at Miami
This may be Frerotte’s last hurrah. Tom Brady meanwhile is going to take out his Monday night frustrations on the Phish.
Pick – Patriots
Minnesota at New York Giants
Go Vikings!
Pick – Giants
New York Jets at Carolina
Steve Smith is a bad man. The Panther’s #1 rushing defense will force the Jets to go exclusively to Bollinger and the pass. Look for Chris Gamble to have another pick or two and Peppers to add to his sack total after getting two last week.
Pick – Panthers
Denver at Oakland
This is a big game for the Faiders to stay in their division race. Turner will find a way not to win it.
Pick – Broncos
Green Bay at Atlanta
The Falcons would be undefeated if Brett Favre was their quarterback.
Pick – Falcons
St. Louis at Seattle
The Hawks already beat the Rams at their house.
Pick – Seahawks
Washington at Tampa Bay
This is a big game for both these clubs. The Buc defense will pose problems for the Redskin offense, but I have to believe the Redskins with Brunell at the helm will make more big plays and beat the Chris Simms led Bucs.
Pick – Redskins
Cleveland at Pittsburgh
With Batch starting, expect this one to be close, but Cowher will continue his winning ways on Sunday and Monday nights. Did you see the 30 seconds with Jimmy Kimmel on Monday Night about Cowher’s mug? Hilarious!
Pick – Steelers
Dallas at Philadelphia
The Eagles continue their decline and get spanked by a rested and fired up puke squad.
Pick – Pukes
