Hognostications: Conference Championship Weekend

News Washington Commanders

What a tough weekend for Redskin fans and for hognosticating. The Redskins lost a game that they should have and could have won. The lack of depth at wide receiver and on the offensive line that we all knew about became all too obvious to everyone else on Saturday. If there is one sure thing Redskin fans can look forward to next season, it is team-wide continuity and improved depth and talent at both of these positions.

Now on to this week’s picks. To heck with trying to use any logic: it didn’t get me anywhere last week.

Pittsburgh at Denver
This ought to be a great game, with both sides trying to establish running games against staunch rush defenses. Just a hunch….Cowher, affectionately known as ‘the Spitter’, once again loses the big game and the Steelers aren’t the first sixth seed to reach the big game. Shanahan reaches his third Superbowl with the Broncos.
Pick – Broncos

Carolina at Seattle
Isn’t the Seahawks making the Superbowl a sign of the Apocalypse? I just believe the Panthers are the better of these two teams. Not so late-breaking news…..Steve Smith is a great receiver and one of the leagues best offensive players (he reminds me of Santana Moss!). The Seahawks aren’t Superbowl material and should have lost last week.
Pick – Panthers

Last Week’s Results: 1-3
Playoffs: 4-4
