Team Needs: Houston Texans

NFL Draft

2007 Results: 8-8
2008 Projected Cap Status: $10,504,400 under the cap

2007 Season Recap:

Finishing 500 in arguably the most competitive division in the NFL (behind Indy, Jacksonville and Tennessee – all in the playoffs), was a success in itself. They will have to improve on their one division win however, to get to the next level. A slowed (knee) Andre Johnson may have affected the team more than realized; he only played in 9 games. Improving on an offense ranked 16th and defense ranked 24th will be key to an improved 2008 season.

Team Needs:

1. Cornerback: A rookie or free agent who can step in to defend the pass is essential with Dunte Robinson possibly out until midseason with hamstring and knee injuries.

2. Strong Safety: A dominating in the box safety who can also cover receivers

3. Defensive End: With a 25 ranked pass defense, getting more pressure on the quarterback is key. They need someone to compliment Mario Williams.

4. Wide Receiver: A good #2 receiver who can take some of the pressure off of Andre Johnson.
