“Boys, there ain’t no free lunches in this country. And don’t go spending your whole life commiserating that you got the raw deals. You’ve got to say ‘I think that if I keep working at this and want it bad enough I can have it.’ It’s called perseverance.” – Lee Iacocca
“Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas Alva Edison.
That is exactly what our football team will do this week. We will try to get back on track by trying to get a win one more time. We must take it one play at a time and not look any further than that one play. We have lost games that I feel with one bounce of the ball in our favor or one more call that goes our way, we win. It is so hard to win in the NFL and it only takes one play to get you beat in a game. We must persevere and keep our heads up and keep fighting in order to make this a good season. Tough times don’t always last but tough people do. I think that we have a lot of tough players and fans and we will be victorious in the end. It is always tough to lose a game when we know that there’s no doubt we were the better team. Mistakes can kill you and we must keep pushing to eliminate them in all aspects of our game.
“Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no help at all.” – Dale Carnegie.
“Given the choice between the experience of pain and nothing, I would choose pain.” – William Faulkner
Yes I have an injury. Yes I have fought through many. “Why do you continue to fight through them” they ask? I reply to them all, my will to win is far greater than any pain that I could ever endure. By now you all know that I tore my biceps tendon and that instead of having surgery to repair it, I will continue to play and help my team win in any way that I can. Giving up and having surgery was never an option for me because I have a job to do and I want to do it. My teammates need me right now and I am going to help them until the end. Having surgery now would have made the procedure a little easier but I put all trust in God and He has given me the answer that I need. Pain is only temporary but the experiences of going out on the football field to fight with a bunch of men that I truly care about will be there for a lifetime. Trust me when I say that I will be alright. I have faith that everything will work out for the best. I am having to good of a season and too much fun to let any pain hold me back. With a lot of treatment and praying this week, I will be good as new. I love playing football and that is exactly what I will do. Thank you to all who prayed for me because it has been a great help. As prayers go out, blessings come in and I have been truly blessed to have friends and fans who continue to support me and my well being. Again thank all of you and know that it will never go unappreciated.
The Redskin Nation is so strong. During warm-ups for the Carolina game, I couldn’t help but notice all the burgundy and gold up in the stands. You really made it feel like a home game. Thanks to all of you that were at the game and please keep supporting us because things will get better. Just wish we could have held on to the victory so that you could have been happy at the end of the game. There is nothing like seeing a happy fan base and we just have to stay positive and know that things will be better in the future. It was just good to know that we had so many supporters at the game and please continue to support us ’til the end. I don’t think I have anything to worry about there because our fans are the greatest. HTTR
The Carolina game was another tough loss because we fought so hard and deserved to win. Mistakes can hurt you in so many ways and we just had too many that cost us during the course of the game. If we want to win games, we must get rid of all the bad or negative plays and focus in and get the job done. Carolina was a good team a year ago and we knew that with them coming off a bye week, nothing would come easy and it didn’t. In this game we learned that field position means a lot in football. The better the field position, the better the chance to win or lose a game. We just cannot afford to give them the field position that we did in the second half. We have got to shake another loss off and gain strength this week for a showdown at FedEx.
The Kansas City Chiefs are coming to town and we know that from recent weeks, it is not the time to sit back and think that this will be an easy win because no win in the NFL is easy. The Chiefs are another team hungry for a victory and will fight us hard to make that happen. Preparing this week is crucial and I know that every man in our locker room will prepare as hard as they need to in order to come out of this one victorious. Trust me that if everybody does their job and trusts the teammate next to them to do the same, there is no doubt that this one will go in the W column. So come out and be loud and let’s get this one done together.
