Back to Business
The bye week was great and much needed. I had a chance to get away and enjoy some time with family and friends. It was nice to have a mental and physical break. I was able to watch college football all day with my family on Saturday, which was cool because I very rarely get to do that. On Sunday we flew back to Washington fairly early and we were able to watch some NFL games. I have to admit this was kind of weird, I’m used to getting ready to play a game, so to be sitting at Buffalo Wild Wings watching all of the games at once was very different for me.
We are also building a house right now. I had no idea the amount of decisions and amount of things that go into building a home. I had no idea a countertop could be rounded, straight edged, curved in and so many other things. I remember the very first thing we did was look at doors. The doors had four panels, two panels, one big panel and so on. I had never looked at a door like that before. Then we had to decide on the grooves and about a million other things. It’s cool to build a house the way we want it, but I have to be honest, most of the little things aren’t a big deal to me. As long as I get my TV’s and a few other obviously important things, I’m ultimately not that picky.
We came back and it feels good to get back into the flow of things again and it feels good to be getting ready to play a game this week. I must admit, I feel much better physically and refreshed mentally. I am excited to play these last eight games and finish out the season with a strong finish and make a push for the playoffs.
The Eagles are a very good team and Mike Vick is playing really well again. They present a really good challenge. Obviously it’s the rematch of our first game, when we beat them in a really well played and closely contested game. On top of that, it’s Monday Night Football, baby! I can’t wait to play! It will be my first Monday night game of my career.
I have to just throw this out there, I am rooting for the Miami Heat this year. They are kind of the black sheep of the NBA because a lot of people think they are almost cheating to win championships. Something about that appeals to me. I also want to mention it because a lot of guys on the team are Lakers fans. I am not particularly a huge basketball fan, but like I said, something about the unpopularity of the Heat appeals to me.
I don’t know if many of you know this, but I was one the cover of Hail! Magazine a week or so ago. If you haven’t seen or read it you should. It’s a good issue, for obvious reasons.
Once again, I can’t wait to get the second half of the season started, play a very good Eagles team again and play on Monday Night Football!!! I can’t wait to see Redskin Nation out in full force!!
