Any Given Sunday
I’m not gonna lie. Each week this blog gets tougher and tougher to write. It’s hard to write when the team isn’t getting a lot of W’s. But I’m not gonna change my tune. I still believe in our team, our coach and our defense. This year obviously hasn’t gone the way we would like it to go for the most part. We’ve had some wins over some very good teams and I think we can continue to build on that. As bad as some people want to make this season sound, there is still a lot of football left to be played. In fact we can still end up with a .500 record. If we win out we can end up with an 8-8 record, a possible season sweep of the Dallas Cowboys, a winning record within our division and a win over every team in our division. While that may not get us into the playoffs, if we win the remainder of our games then that wouldn’t be a half bad resume.
Last week’s game was a game we could have and should have won. We dominated the first half and played well in the second half. On any given Sunday anybody can beat anybody. It was a very tough loss because I believe we outplayed them, but on this particular Sunday, it just wasn’t meant to be.
This week we play the Cowboys again. We already own one victory over them this year. I learned very quickly when I first got here how big of a rivalry this is. As if the “We Want Dallas” chants weren’t enough of an indication during the preseason games. The Cowboys are a much different team today than the one we played the first game of the year. Their new coach has them playing hard, inspired, physical football. I can’t wait! I’m also excited to play in their stadium. It will be my first time in it. I can’t wait to check out “Jerry World” and then go play a great football game.
This past Monday I made an appearance on The Phillip Daniels Radio Show and put to bed the debate of who the strongest guy on the team is. It’s clearly me and I had a great time doing it and doing the show with those guys. I hope everyone who watched online and listened in enjoyed the show. I enjoy doing things like that. I particularly enjoyed the drunk guy who was talking trash to all of us and got thrown out of the place. Those are priceless moments.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
