Hankerson Continues To Impress

Washington Commanders

The Redskins third round draft pick Leonard Hankerson had another solid practice today, in his bid to make Washington’s 2011 roster. The big receiver from the ‘U’ has impressed early in camp, and has wowed the crowds with a couple of circus catches.

THN’s own Jake Russell was at practice this morning, and was live updating via Twitter. Here are a couple that pertained to Hankerson:

“Hankerson @HankTime85 just made a nice one handed grab that wow’d the crowd here. #RedskinsLink

At 6’2″, 220 pounds, Hankerson possesses a rare combination of speed and size. Not one of the other eleven, yes eleven, wide receivers at camp, has the same physical presence. He has good hands, as witnessed by his one-handed grab today, and not only should make this ball club, but has the ability to contribute right out of the gate.

If you’re heading to a training camp practice this week, keep an eye out for number 85 – he won’t be hard to pick out.
