It’s really tough to pick a team’s final 53-man roster – even with just over a week to go before it happens. So much can happen in that span, that it’s almost moot to try and make a bold prediction, let alone 53 of them. But it is still fun to make bad guesses isn’t it?

Before you hop on to Twitter @TheHogsdotNet and tell me I’m an idiot for some decision I made… do a list yourself, and then nit-pick. When you’re choosing all 53 spots, a lot more goes into decision making than just individual battles.
At least it should.
Incidentally, teams have to cut down to 80 players by tomorrow, and then down to the final 53 by Saturday, September 3rd. So we’ll find out how wrong I was, soon enough.
Hail!
I count at least 12 new players making your team. Most of these guys have already performed well in preseason. When was the last time the Skins did this well in the offseason. This year the Redskins offseason was like getting a dozen very nice presents for Christmas instead of the usual shiny car in the driveway with a blown engine. I like this start to a nice rebuild.
I thought Sellers was working at TE?
Just a couple of notes:
1) Apparently Buchanon’s suspension does not count as a roster spot, so add Doug Worthington in as the 53rd.
2) @AndesAngle – yeah, lots of new faces, and agree that it is good. Too many fat cats in the bunch, good to clear the ‘air’
3) @Tony – Big Mike got time at both FB and TE last week. I could have listed him at either spot, but chose FB because he is the only back-up at FB on my roster. Part of the reason I think he makes it, is because of the injured status of tight end Chris Cooley – CC should be better, but obviously his injury has kept him out of the entire preseason (he won’t play against the Bucs this week either). So Sellers’ ability to back up both spots, combined with being arguably the teams best special teams contributor, AND being one of the team leaders, led to my decision to keep him on the roster.
I come up with the same list with one notable exception: I don’t see Mike Shanahan keeping more than two quarterbacks on the active roster. That would allow the team to keep Keiland Williams or Niles Paul. My uneducated guess says Keiland Williams over Kellen Clemens.
