Inactives: Redskins v Eagles

Washington Commanders

The Redskins Inactives for today’s game against the Phladelphia Eagles are:

WR Aldrick Robinson
LB Rocky McIntosh
RT Jammal Brown
TE Richard Quinn
WR David Anderson
DL Doug Worthington
DE Kentwan Balmer

Rocky Mac being inactive means he’s likely played his last game in the burgundy and gold, and it’s a somewhat surprising, though perhaps fitting end to a tough year for the veteran linebacker. After being allowed to pursue other avenues free agency, but eventually returning when no suitors could be found, and youngster Perry Riley seemed to be struggling slightly in pre-season, Rocky won his starting job back the old-fashioned way – he earned it.

He started the season really, really well and looked like he finally understood and was fitting into, the 3-4 scheme; but after a few games he began to struggle again, and teams were taking advantage, especially against the run. The decision was made to give Riley his first chance to start, and the rest they say, is history. Riley has been outstanding, and a bright spot in 2011, and McIntosh is the one left holding the bag.

Ryan O’Halloran posted via Twitter: Asked him (Rocky) on Friday about future, “Don’t know, nor do I care. I’ll play somewhere.”

Ouch.

Best of luck Rocky, and try not to burn down any bridges; one never knows what the future holds. Right now though, it’s looking like McIntosh might have played his last game for the Washington Redskins last week against the Minnesota Vikings.

Inactives for the Eagles:

Samuel, McCoy, Thornton, Vandervelde, R. Johnson, Lloyd, Patterson
