Evan Royster Wallpaper

Wallpapers Washington Commanders

To commemorate a great close to the season from Redskins’ running back Evan Royster, I was inspired to do up a wallpaper to honor his two consecutive 100-plus yard rushing efforts.

The rookie got his first career NFL start against the Vikings, when fellow rookie running back Roy Helu couldn’t go. Royster made the most of his opportunity with 132 yards rushing on 19 carries, and another 15 yards on two receptions. Considering the Redskins released Ryan Torain, you’d have to assume that the Redskins were impressed enough with Royster to give him Torain’s back-up role.

A group of fans from Penn State took to calling themselves the Blue Royster Cult when Evan was there, so the wallpaper is a take off of the ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper: Best of Blue Oyster Cult’ cover, but it didn’t seem like much of a message to show the Reaper morphing into Royster and then have, ‘Don’t Fear the Reaper’ – it didn’t seem very menacing – so a little artistic license made it ‘Fear the Reaper’ and the wallpaper was born. I guess as Redskins fans, we’re actually the ‘Burgundy Oyster Cult’, but I couldn’t find a cool album cover from any band called the Burgundy Oyster Cult. Here is the original B.O.C. cover.

Don't Fear The Reaper Cover

As usual I was incredibly lazy, and did just one size of wallpaper at 1280×768; but it will stretch to 1280×800 without much change.

I would be remiss to have a blog that involved Blue Oyster Cult and not reference the great Will Ferrell Cow Bell skit on Saturday Night Live.

Check out the other ‘Morph’ wallpaper I did of Chris Neild too. If you use any of the wallpapers, hit me up on Twitter @TheHogsdotNet and let me know that you did.

Hail!

  1. @Jon Thanks for your two cents – I actually stayed up all night fretting about your response and trying to decide if I should redo the whole thing for you.

    Sadly, I decided no.

    😀
