Leonard Hankerson tweeted today that he had good news and bad news about his hip. The bad news – he had his hip injury operated on this past Tuesday. The good news – he should be rehabilitated and ready to go by training camp.

Hankerson tore his labrum in just his second start as a Redskin in 2011. After waiting patiently – and quietly – on the bench, the young wide receiver out of Miami stepped in and impressed everyone.
Sharp routes. Good hands. Exceptional size and speed. The kid appears to have it all and could eventually prove to be a real steal in the third round.
One thing is for sure, it’s never a good thing for a young player who missed all of the OTAs and offseason workouts last year (due to the lockout), to miss out on such an integral part of his young development. Hopefully the delay in deciding to have surgery won’t hurt him too much, but it will be interesting to hear why the decision was delayed and then ultimately changed.
