If Burgundy you Bleed, Then Vote For RGIII!

Washington Commanders

Not surprisingly, Robert Griffin III has been nominated for both player of the week and rookie of the week honors, after his impressive debut on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

If you haven’t already, you can choose RGIII as the NFL’s FedEx Air Player of the Week, and/or Pepsi Max Rookie of the Week at NFL.com. Don’t just stare at those links that I provided for you, click on them and vote for your new stud quarterback because your votes decide who wins. Winners will be announced Friday.

Redskin fans are well aware of what RGIII did in the Redskins 40-32 victory at the Superdome, but NFL.com summed up Griffin’s performance thusly:

Griffin completed 19 of 26 passes for 320 yards and two touchdowns, finishing his regular-season debut with a 139.9 passer rating. He added 42 yards rushing on 10 carries as the Redskins’ topped the New Orleans Saints, 40-32.

In the FedEx Air POW, here’s RGIII’s competition:

From NFL.com

Tony Romo, Dallas Cowboys
Romo completed 22 of 29 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns in the Cowboys’ 24-17 Kickoff victory over the New York Giants.

Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons
Ryan completed 23 of 31 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns in the Falcons’ 40-24 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Don’t let a Cowboy stand in the way.

In the Pepsi Max ROW, here’s RGIII’s competition:

From NFL.com:

Stephen Hill, New York Jets
Hill caught five receptions for 89 yards along with pulling in two touchdowns in the Jets’ 48-28 win over the Buffalo Bills.

Chandler Jones, New England Patriots
Jones recorded five tackles, one sack and one forced fumble in the Patriots’ 34-13 defeat of the Tennessee Titans.

Doug Martin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Martin gained 95 yards on 24 carries in the Buccaneers’ 16-10 win over the Carolina Panthers.

Blair Walsh, Minnesota Vikings
Walsh was 4 of 4 on field goals including a 55-yard field goal to send the game into overtime followed by a 39-yard field goal in OT to defeat the Jacksonville Jaguars, 26-23.

All really good days for rookies, especially Walsh… but let’s face it, none of them were like RGIII’s debut.

But I’m a little biased.

What are you waiting for? Vote!
