The Redskins announced the signing of eleven undrafted free agents yesterday, and are expected to announce a couple more in the next few days. Washington’s rookie camp starts next week (May 15).
Here is a list of the players that were signed:
Connor Halliday, QB, Washington State
Corey Crawford, DE, Clemson
Brey Cook, OT, Arkansas
Dyshawn Davis, LB, Syracuse
Terrance Plummer, LB, Central Florida
Trey Williams, RB, Texas A&M
Reggie Bell, WR, San Diego
Tony Jones, WR, Northwestern
Tyler Rutenbeck, WR. Dubuque
Devin Mahina, TE, Brigham Young
Ty Long, K, Alabama-Birmingham
Tackle Takoby Cofield is rumored to be one of the other players ready to sign over the next few days. Stay tuned.
Full marks if you know any of these players but aren’t related to them, or went to their school. UDFAs are obviously long shots to make NFL rosters, but it doesn’t make them camp fodder. Role players and developmental projects can certainly be born from these choices.
If you forgot that mantra or doubt seeps in, just chant the following truism…
Joe Jacoby was never drafted. Joe Jacoby was never drafted. Joe Jacoby was…
Hail to the Redskins
