By Mark Solway | October 19th, 2017

On this day in Redskins history, 76 years ago, Sammy Baugh led his Washington Redskins to a 21-17 triumph over the Philadelphia Eagles.

The Redskins overcame turning the ball over five times, when Sammy Baugh hit Bob masterson with a 22 yard touchdown pass that would put the Redskins in front for good. Baugh threw two touchdowns – the one to Masterson, and another to Ed Justice (31 yards) – and halfback Andy Farkas added another touchdown on a 5 yard run. Masterson also kicked one of the game’s PATs – Joe Aguirre kicked the other two.
