The Washington Football team have claimed former Houston Texans Guard Beau Benzschawel off waivers.

The offensive lineman played his college football at Wisconsin, and was picked up by the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2019.

He was on Detroit’s practice squad for almost all of 2019 and 2020, but did have two game appearances. He was released in December last year, and subsequently picked up by the Texans. He appeared in one game for them in 2020, before being released yesterday.

The 25-year old will be looking to catch on with Washington, and perhaps benefit from a new provision. The NFL will allow teams to carry up to 48 players on an active game day roster, as long as eight of them are offensive linemen.
