The Washington Football Team added two more players to their roster on Wednesday. Washington announced the signing of cornerback Linden Stephens, and tight end Deon Yelder.
Yelder comes over from the Chiefs, where he’s played since being signed to their practice squad in 2018. He played in 14 games last year for Kansas City, grabbing 7 receptions for 73 yards.
The tight end from Western Kentucky has appeared in 26 career games, and has 10 career receptions for 73 yards – including one in the Chiefs Super Bowl LIV victory over the 49ers.
Stephens played for the Seattle Seahawks last season, playing in 13 games and making three tackles on special teams.
Before Seattle, he had bounced around from practice squad to practice squad — the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, and Seattle Seahawks (twice).
He has appeared in 16 career games.
The two veteran free agents will vie for special teams time, and will compete to fill out depth at their positions.
