After saying that they were not going to make a kicking change this week, Washington made a kicking change this week. The Football Team signed Joey Slye, who was recently released by the San Francisco 49ers. The WFT released Chris Blewitt, who had more success as an internet meme than he did on the football field.
Not that surprising a move, and almost necessary given the kicking issues in the last two outings.

Washington kicker Chris Blewitt had two of his three field goals blocked on Sunday. The Football Team ended up losing 17-10 to the Denver Broncos, making the two mistakes that much more costly. Week 9 is Washington’s bye Week. Will the kicker be saying goodbye?
Not only did Blewitt have two of his three kicks blocked this week, but one of his two kicks were blocked last week as well.

The Washington Football Team have dropped two games in a row, heading into this NFC East versus NFC North match-up. They head to Lambeau Field on Sunday to face the 5-1 Green Bay Packers. The Packers have not lost a game since dropping their season opener.

Did the Washington Football Team actually just catch a break? It doesn’t seem that often of late, that a critical bounce or call seemed to go Washington’s way. Yet last night, Washington got a favourable call, and rode it to their first win of the young season. The first win for Taylor Heinicke, in his NFL career.
The fourth quarter of last night’s Thursday tilt between Washington and the New York Giants was an absolute roller coaster. The lead changed hands three times in the last five minutes of play. There was a game-winning field goal attempt as the clock was running dry. Then there was another game-winning field goal attempt when the clock had run dry.
