Throwback Thursday: Kilmer Ends Vikings Undefeated Season

It was on this day – November 30th – in 1975, that Billy Kilmer led the Washington Redskins to a 31-30 upset victory over Fran Tarkenton’s Minnesota Vikings.

The Vikings came into the matchup with a 10-0 record, but George Allen had his 7-3 Redskins ready for battle.

Dallas Week: Memories of Rivalry Past

I was both impressed and amused by Deangelo Hall’s new found fiestiness…  in an “Awwww, come on, dude” kind of way…  Here’s this little guy, never known for his physicality, talkin’ “AH MA GONNA TAKE’EMOUT” smack with Tony Romo on Dallas Week.

Deangelo:  “Absolutely. I want to get a chance to put my helmet on whatever’s hurt,” Hall said. “Romo’s ribs—I’m going to be asking for some corner blitzes. If I know Felix Jones’(notes) shoulder’s hurt, I’m not going to cut him. I’m definitely going to try to hit him up high, so that’s just part of it.

“If you know something’s wrong with an opponent, you’re going to try to target in on that. We’re going to try to definitely get as many hats on that team as possible.”

Does it get any better?

Musings from Curmudgeon Corner

Posted from Curmudgeon Corner, Maine

You know what they say about opinions…
I have no idea what the next few weeks may hold… but I suspect that there is some fun afoot.

My plan?
Re-sign Campbell. Work on building an OL for the future. If a QB falls to us, fine. But, what the heck… nobody listens to me since my dog died.

Cerrato Out, Allen In

In what most Redskin fans would classify as an early Christmas present, Vinny Cerrato resigned as the Washington Redskins executive vice president of football operations on Thursday. It is the end of an era – an unsuccessful, often painful era.

Bruce Allen? George Allen? Memories…

All I can say is wow. Cerrato. Gone. Poof. I sure didn’t see it coming. Of course, in hind sight… there have been a number of Daniel Snyder – Bruce Allen sightings… and I think that there have been a couple of quickly dismissed rumors… We all wished… http://ourtadalafil.com/ but no one expected… for Cerrato to leave the scene.

So, there is delirium… rumors continue to swirl… it seems that most money is on Mike Shanahan to become the next HC… but, who would expect that to be announced before the end of the season?

Washington Redskins in the LIFE Photo Archives

TIME has recently teamed up with Google to make their LIFE photo archives available on the web. Most of these photos never made it into print, and the process of digitalizing around 10 million photos is still ongoing. It’s an incredible resource, and Google Images makes the archive easy to search.

There are some fantastic football shots. Unfortunately, the best pictures don’t involve the Redskins; I had no idea this media biased stretched back so far. But there are a lot of interesting photos of the hometown team, and I’ve linked them here for your convenience.
