Flashback Friday: Beck To The Future: The Buffalo Bills

On Sunday, Washington square off against the Buffalo Bills. They don’t play each other very often. They are in different Conferences, and often at different ends of the table. This will be just the fourth time they have faced each other in the last decade. And while nobody really wants to remember, it was almost ten years ago that Washington lost to the Bills in a most spectacular fashion.

In Canada.

I was there. Though I have regretted it ever since.

On October 30th, 2011, Washington played an away game in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Rogers Centre. It was part of the NFL’s International Series that put games in other world cities, and Buffalo played five home games in Toronto from 2008-2013.

For the Love of Rex?

That’s it. The only question was, why did Shanahan take so long?

The Eagles had sold out. All effort was placed on stopping the run. They had committed to forcing Grossman to beat them with his arm.

Andrew Luck in a Redskins uniform

For those who like to dream, here is the opportunity to see Andrew Luck in a Redskins uniform. While fans would prefer to see Luck don the number 12 over John Beck, in all likelihood he will be sporting that jersey in central Indiana next season.

This Photoshop design comes from Chris Creamer’s’s forums. This is far and away the best web site for sports logos and uniforms. Folks can see Luck in Colts and Dolphins uniforms in amazing detail in this thread.

Analysis of the Washington Redskins and Fans

Okay, it’s finally time I present this long-winded rant about the Redskins. Just a quick disclaimer, there may be some foul language, I may target some people, and this is not going to be a rant all about the team or coaches… “fans” are as open a target as any.

Thoughts On Redskins vs. Dolphins

Well, as some of you may have seen, I tweeted in the early hours of Sunday morning that the Dolphins wouldn’t care for the QB controversy that the Shanahan’s created because it wouldn’t matter in terms of their preparation overall. If they could score first, they could play pass defense the rest of the game, and they would win. Well, that proved to be the case.

Review of Washington Redskins vs. San Francisco 49ers

The Washington Redskins lost to the San Francisco 49ers 19-11 yesterday. 8 of those 11 points for the Redskins came in trash time when the 49ers weren’t playing a pressure-based defense.

Sean’s Immediate Reaction Following Loss to Panthers

The Washington Redskins travelled to play the Carolina Panthers, and pretty much just got destroyed.

Before I get started on the offense, I want to bring up the defense.

5 Keys To Beating Carolina

So the Redskins are 2.5 point underdogs to a 1-5 team? Well there’s some of that league-wide respect the Redskins have come to know. Here are five things the Redskins can and should do to improve their chances of victory against Carolina.

Tale of the Tape: Bucs

Tonight will be the last preseason game for both the Washington Redskins and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The fourth game is often a bit of a throw away as coaches often try to get the starters a series or two of action, and then just look at their depth positions. Tonight at Fed Ex Field, there are likely more questions to be answered for both organizations, so expect to see at least a good first half of football.

The Bucs are 2-1 in the preseason so far, and are coming off of a 17-13 victory last week over the Miami Dolphins. The Redskins share that same 2-1 preseason record, but are of course coming off of a 34-31 loss at the hands of the Baltimore Ravens. Here is a look at the, “oh so important” numbers for both squads, and their respective league rankings:

Beltway Battle Preview: Ravens

The Washington Redskins will square off against the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night at FedEx Field. The third preseason game is often a very telling tale of what fans can expect to see in Week 1 of the regular season, but will that be true in 2011? With a lockout shortened offseason, NFL teams may very well need that fourth preseason game as well to get ready. Normally, that game is reserved for determining depth positions and/or special teams, but expect to see evaluation throughout the lineup this year. So what should you look for tomorrow night?
