The pageantry from the NFL this week has been incredible. From Deflate-Gate to reporters clad in barrels, the hype machine during the Super Bowl lead-up has been absolutely feverish. Actually, pretty much nauseating to most of their genuine fans I would imagine, certainly to me.
What do you think? Has the NFL spent so much time, energy and money using the Super Bowl to attract a “new viewer” that they have completely forgotten and ignored their existing fanbase?

That isn’t to say that on the instances where my payoffs have been big, that I wasn’t happy; but rather to take note of the fact that the sense of accomplishment probably out-weighed the financial gain.
So the start of another NFL season and the Redskins’ first game, is just part of the rapture that I get to enjoy this week, with the other part being that I get to start shuffling money. You see, I know when I am looking at the NFL Week One Odds that even if I win big this week or at any point, there’s always a good chance that I’m NOT going to win. It’s the nature of the beast. So if I look at my gambling winnings and losses as “shuffling” – it’s a good way for myself personally to make sure that I always bet responsibly.

Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins offense, had a very tough 2013 season. RGIII was coming off knee surgery, which really hindered his development. He didn’t have the off-season workouts that most quarterbacks and receivers have. He had to spend all of last off-season rehabbing his surgically repaired right knee.
So what can we expect from Robert Griffin III in 2014? Hopefully a healthy and rejuvenated RGIII that will be vying for the comeback player of the year next season. New Redskins head coach Jay Gruden, who worked with Andy Dalton in Cincinnati, can definitely help RGIII become a much better quarterback.

This decision will come back to haunt them, some day. He is an extremely competent football mind, whom, I’m confident, will win his share of Super Bowls as a head coach somewhere, some day.

The Redskins linebacker group has had a tough couple of seasons after transitioning to the 3-4 defense. The 3-4 is a defense that works much better with a lead. However, with the lackluster performance the offense has displayed the defense has been tasked with keeping the team in games rather than attacking at will like it is designed to do. Most of the linebacker group was either a part of the transition from the 4-3 at a different position or came from a team where they played defensive line. The staff seems to have a knack for finding players that can make the transition well though, with Ryan Kerrigan and Brian Orakpo being super examples. In 2011, the team had good starting players but, depth was an issue, mainly because of inexperience. In 2012 however, the linebacker camp battles we will witness will be epic. If the defensive line and secondary can play better this season, the Redskins linebackers could rise to be the top threat in the NFC East. Let’s get to know a little about this group of players.
