Washington Add Names To Selection Process For 90 Greatest

When Washington announced earlier this week that they had a new patch to commemorate the franchise’s 90th season, they also released a list of names that fans would be able to choose from, to have a new 90 Greatest list.

Originally in 2002, Washington came up with 70 players on the 70th Anniversary, that comprised the first Greatest list. In 2012, they added 10 more players to commemorate the 80th Anniversary.

Of course it stands to reason that in 2022, 10 players will again be added to the annuls of Washington history, and take their place on the 90 Greatest.

He’s Back!!

After eight long years, Ryan Clark has returned to the Washington Redskins on a one-year deal. While his play on the field should be a marked improvement, his leadership is invaluable, and the Redskins defense just got a whole lot smarter, and a lot more mature.

Most Redskin fans remember – with chagrin – that Clark went on to experience great success when he left Washington. He spent eight seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he roamed the secondary, smacking heads. He registered over 100 tackles twice, including 102 last year when he was also a team captain.

Special Redskins Outfit For Game One

I’m not artsy craftsy… I’m not good with a needle and thead – as a matter of fact, I don’t think I have ever used them except on skin – but my boy’s first cognizant Redskins football game required something drastic – something memorable.

Many moons ago at Redskins training camp, I met a friend – and I met him because his little boy was running around in the cutest pair of Redskins overalls that I had ever seen. His mom made them for him. Jackson was the happiest kid at Redskins Park that day, and probably because he looked the coolest.

So fast forward ten years to this past week. I’m sitting there trying to think what I can do for Tommy that will make his first Redskins experience a special one. The overalls spring to mind.

Cowboys Fan Petitions President to Oust Jerry Jones

Reading NFL.com’s story on a Dallas Cowboy fan petitioning Barack Obama to get rid of Jerry Jones, is really way more joy than I can handle in the same week that my Redskins smacked up the Cowboys in their own stadium, and on Thanksgiving to boot.

We, the Citizens of the Great State of Texas, and Dallas Cowboys fans worldwide, have been oppressed by an over controlling, delusional, oppressive dictator for way too long. Request the Executive Branch’s immediate assistance in removal of owner and GM, Jerry Jones. His incompetence and ego have not only been an extreme disappointment for way too long, but moreover, it has caused extreme mental and emotional duress.

Ten Game Thoughts: Vikings

It was another roller coaster ride for Redskins Nation on Sunday, as the Redskins struggled early, and then struggled to put the Vikings away after dominating through most of the middle of the game. In the end, Robert Griffin III’s two rushing touchdowns, proved more than Minnesota could handle, and allowed Washington to come away a 38-26 victory – their first home win in nine tries. The loss ended a three game winning streak for the Vikings, and dropped them to 4-2 on the season.

Here are some thoughts about the game:

Five Quick Thoughts: Falcons

It was yet another tough experience for Redskins Nation, as Washington had every chance to hand Atlanta their first loss of the season; but in the end, it was the Falcons who came out on top 24-17. Here are some quick thoughts on the game:

1) Robert Griffin III – Obviously the collective breaths of every Redskin fan on the planet, were held tight, when RGIII was drilled in the head. Mildly concussed, he wouldn’t return. Hopefully RGIII will recover quickly and be ready for next week, but will this be a wake up call to the importance of sliding for the young rookie? Tough is tough, but you don’t have to be careless to be tough. He needs to learn to protect himself a bit better, and live to fight another down. It’s hard to even suggest to someone with the kind of fire and integrity that RGIII has, that he should take the ‘easier route’ but that’s what he needs to do. His team needs him – for more than any one game, or any one play.

RGIII Everywhere

RGIII is everywhere.

NFL.com is running a story titled, “RG3 and Redskins top NFL watchability power rankings.” It seems strange, considering that in the actual content of the article itself, the only mention of Griffin is, “Quarterbacks Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III make mediocre squads fascinating. I want to be there from the beginning with their careers.”

It seems almost gratuitous to make the Redskins and Griffin the subject of the story’s title, when other than Washington being in a list of “Must Watch” teams, the only other mention of them is to call them a “mediocre squad.”
