Flashback Friday: Beck To The Future: The Buffalo Bills

On Sunday, Washington square off against the Buffalo Bills. They don’t play each other very often. They are in different Conferences, and often at different ends of the table. This will be just the fourth time they have faced each other in the last decade. And while nobody really wants to remember, it was almost ten years ago that Washington lost to the Bills in a most spectacular fashion.

In Canada.

I was there. Though I have regretted it ever since.

On October 30th, 2011, Washington played an away game in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at the Rogers Centre. It was part of the NFL’s International Series that put games in other world cities, and Buffalo played five home games in Toronto from 2008-2013. Read More

Washington Given Second Chance; Heinicke Notches First Win

Did the Washington Football Team actually just catch a break? It doesn’t seem that often of late, that a critical bounce or call seemed to go Washington’s way. Yet last night, Washington got a favourable call, and rode it to their first win of the young season. The first win for Taylor Heinicke, in his NFL career.

Up And Down We Go

The fourth quarter of last night’s Thursday tilt between Washington and the New York Giants was an absolute roller coaster. The lead changed hands three times in the last five minutes of play. Quarterback Situation

Much has been made about bringing in veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in the off-season. By most accounts, Fitzpatrick had a decent camp. He did throw a few interceptions, but in his first experience in a new offense, that’s to be expected.

Washington Football Team 2021 Free Agent Signings

Here’s a breakdown of all of Washington’s 2021 NFL free-agent signings, and how some of the players are expected to contribute:

Updated: May 24th

Curtis Samuel, WR

The former Carolina Panther has agreed to a 3-year, $34.5 million deal with Washington, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Washington considered it a big need to get more downfield speed, and did so. Not only did they fill their number two receiver slot to pair with Terry McLaurin, they chose his friend and former teammate at Ohio State. Samuels can operate outside or in the slot, and offensive coordinator Scott Turner already knows how to tap into Samuel’s versatility. Grade: A

Best and Worst: Redskins Versus Texans

At times, it was painful. At others, blissful. So goes the average game for an armchair quarterback. Here are a collection of the best and worst moments from Washington’s 17-6 loss to the Texans in Houston on Sunday.

Best Redskins Debut: Jason Hatcher
He registered his first sack in his first game, and was disruptive for much of it. He got nicked up in his first action in the burgundy and gold, but managed to return. He’s pretty good. Read More
