Redskins Free Agency Tracker – March 14th

The Redskins have taken their time allowing the market to develop during the first two days of free agency. Last night they lost out on special teams ace Lorenzo Alexander to the Arizona Cardinals. Cornerback Derek Cox, reported to be a Redskins target, chose to sign with the San Diego Chargers late yesterday as well.

Action should pick up over the coming weeks but presumably at a snails pace. The Redskins reportedly did make a signing.

Redskins Free Agency Tracker – March 13th

The Redskins opened up the first day with barely a peep. The team retained punter Sav Rocca and defensive lineman Kedric Golston. It was also revealed through Twitter that the One Man Gang, Lorenzo Alexander, would be signing with a new team to be determined.

As the more expensive free agents are taken off the market, the Redskins should get more active with scouting affordable B and C level talent.

Pluck The Cowboys Thanksgiving Style

Yeah, yeah, yeah – this is a day or six, and probably a couple of dollars short. The cool answer is that it took this long to work out the alcohol consumed during the Redskins thrilling 38-31 victory over the Cowboys last Thursday. The honest one is that I actually just forgot to actually POST the blog after I had written it. (Hey, maybe the alcohol can actually be blamed!)

Things I Think I Think I Know

Does my title confuse you? I am calling this things that I think I think I know, because they are preseason lamentations, and reaching solid conclusions from such vanilla observances, can often be sticky. They are things that I know that I saw, I just don’t know how much weight that can be granted, given the overall practice nature of the NFL’s preseason.

1) Kirk Cousins has a future in the NFL. He put on an impressive performance on Saturday night against the Bears, tossing three touchdowns, and shredding the Chicago defense time after time in the second half. Pretty impressive for a guy seeing his first real NFL game action. He looked poised and comfortable, and really seemed to have a firm grasp of his reads, and the Redskins offense.
