WFT Schedule Highlights

Three Prime Time games – versus the Giants, at the Seahawks and at the Cowboys.

Two Holiday games – on halloween in Denver, and in Dallas on Boxing Day.

Mystery game – Washington will play in Philadelphia in Week 15, but neither the date or the time was announced.

Strength Of Schedule

Due to winning the NFC East last season (despite finishing 7-9), Washington has to face off against other division winners in 2021 as part of the scheduling formula. So WFT will face the NFC West champion Seahawks (12-4), the NFC South champion Saints (12-4), and the NFC North champion Packers (13-3).

Washington also drew the NFC South this year, so on top of playing the Saints, they also have to face the defending Super Bowl Champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers (11-5).

If that wasn’t enough, the NFL’s enhanced 17-game schedule starts this year, and WFT’s extra game is against yet another 2020 division winner, as they will face the Buffalo Bills (AFC East 13-3).

Those five stiff opponents posted a combined record of 61-19 last season.

Ouch.

Fortunately, Washington’s other opponents in 2021 didn’t fare nearly as well in 2020. That levelled things out at about 136-134-2 in 2020 for this year’s competition. That opponent’s winning percentage of .504, put WFT about middle of the pack for strength of schedule at 15th.

Washington’s will also play their last FIVE games against NFC East rivals.
