Redskins game - Ongoing game time thread

I missed the first three plays, what happened on the first drive. Watching them near the goal line, saw them get the punt. It looked like Patrick Johnson recovered it.

Looks like Robert royal went offsides. Bummer, only 3 points. They were going for it on 4th down after Rock missed it on 3rd and 1.

WoW! Our Dline looked professional the first series with the ravens! Great open field tackle by Lavar. 3 and out baby!

oooohhh, the Ravens Defense looked like the Raven's Defense this time...3 and out. Bett's first play was tackled 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Patrick Johnson is looking good on punt coverage. He got the fumble the first time and tackled him this time.

Linebackers look terrific. Dline is looking good. Armstead wrapped the RB up early. Smoot pushed the receiver out on 2cd. #rd down, w/pressure on the QB, bowler throws the bad pass in the ground. Poor punt. Redskins start on the 25 yard line.

Wow, great screen to coles - he picks up the first down.

1st and 10 on the 35: Trung hit in the backfield.
2cd and 11: Pass to patrick Johnson, 5 yard out, he picks up the 1st.

1st and 10 on the 46: wow, pass blocked and intercepted. Bad pass by ramsey...wait. Penalty, Pass Interference, Ravens! Chris McCalister got caught.

1st and 10 on the ravens 49: cartright goes 3 yards.
2cd - Awesome catch by coles! Ray luis gets unnecessary roughness penalty. Bostic is saying Oline is doing awesome.

1st and 10 on the 17: trung to the 15.
2cd: Ramsey almost intercepted at the 2 yard line, incomplete. Flemister was the intended receiver
3rd and 8: They called Defense offsides! Looked like Samuels was offsides though.
3rd and 3: Trung goes to the 5! Trung looks good inside.

1st and Goal! Trung gets one. End of the 1st quarter. For some reason Betts hasn't come back though.

Wow! Touchdown, Washington Redskins. Great inside run by Candidate. Robert royal blocking.

10-0 Redskins!

I know this is hard to believe, but on both sides of the ball, our lines are dominating the game!

That drive was 10 plays for 75 yards.

Redskins had 11:46 for the first quarter, and 7 first downs to 1.

Touchback. Ravens, 1st and 10 on the 20: Bowler throws in the ground again. He looks horrid.
2cd and 10: Taylor up the middle for 3.
3Rd: Lewis gets a pass over the middle but not enough for a first.

Ravens Punt. Chad picks it and gets it to the 37.

1st and 10: Ladell Betts does awesome up the middle. The Oline is terrific. Dockery looks made for run blocking.
2cd and 2: Ray louis gets betts at the line.
3rd and 2: Robert Royal blows it. 15 yards over the middle. Wow! Horrid late hit on Ramsey. Hope he's ok. No 93 did it and put Ramsey in half! 15 yard penalty.

1st and 10 on ravens 40: WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! Ramsey, to chad, pitchback to ramsey - LOOOOONG pass to Coles in the endzone! Touchdown Washington Redskins!

Coles looks simply awesome. I have no idea why Ray Lewis was in double coverage on him. Coles went by these guys like they were standing still. The Oline was great and Ramsey looks like Rypien in 91 when he throws long. Right on the money!

PS - they showed a replay, Lewis figured out what was happening and abandoned his position and went to the ball. He was just to slow but great effort on Lewis' part. Sonny thinks Lavar is trying to show Lewis that he's of the same cloth.

Kickoff. Lamar Marshall gets the guy.

1st and 10 on the 28: Lewis brought down by lavar. Lavar looks in game day form.
2cd and 9: Jamal lewis dropps it. Wow! we look like a real team!!!
3rd and 9: Bowler to Randy hines, 13 yard play.

1st and 10 on the 41: lewis gets 5 yard pass. no pressure on the QB on this play.
2cd and 5: travis taylor, 3 yard out.
3rd and 2: Bowler throws a bad pass, tipped at the line by Cowsette.
Punting time baby!

Chad bobbles the punt on the 9 and is dropped. Redskins have bad field position.

1st and 10 on the 10: Ramsey is still in. throws short pass to Johnson for maybe two yard.
2cd and 7: Great run by betts, taken back on a holding call on Dockery though.
2cd and 13: WOW! great run by Chad on a draw. he gets about 11.
3rd and 2: Ramsey audibles and runs out of time. Time out.
3rd and 2: Bad play action, way short on a deep corner to russell. Punting time.

Barker: Hits a huge punt, returner takes it to the 42. It was a 56 yard punt.

1st and 10, 41: Lewis runs for no yards up the middle. Haley stops him.
2cd and 10: Lewis gets a pass for 5 yards out to the left.
3rd and 5: Ohalete knocked it away, did great. Penalty for holding declined.

Punt is short out of bounds.

Ramsey was 8 of 13 for 100 yards and one TD.

ROb Johnson is in: 1st and 10, 23: watson up the middle for no yards.
2cd and 10: watson for 3 yards.
3rd and 7: Its clear the starting oline has left the building. Johnson runs for his life and throws it away.

Leaverton Punting....common...low kick by leaverton but great coverage. 39 yard punt, 2 yard loss on the return.

1st and on 33: Baily stops runner on a great open field tackle.
2cd: over the middle to Jerry Jones, Mitchel got him.
3rd and 3: nice pass over the middle for 10 yards.

1st and 10, 49, Hines caught it about 10 yards out, even though great coverage by smoot.

2 minute warning. in Baltimore's first 5 possesions they were -42 yards!

1st and 10, great out to the right to hines right over the 1st down marker. first down.

1st and 10 on the redskins 25: Lewis goes for 2 up the middle.
2cd and 8: Lewis, great pass, horrid tackline by champ. 13 yard pickup.

1st and 10 on the 12: Redskins call timeout and look confused. Bowler gets flushed out of the pocket, champ sacks him. Time out Ravens, there is about 1 minute left.
2cd and 14: Bowler has TUNS of pressure by Wynn, barely gets it to lewis who does a great run. Smoot catches him.
3rd and 9: Pass to taylor on the 7. They are deciding to go for a field goal I think. They are letting the clock run down.
4th down field goal attempt: 24 yard attempt: FG Ravens. 17 -3 ballgame now.

Our starting defense was still out and looked alright, even though the ravens got some plays. Best thing is the pressure up the middle and stopping the run. The Ravens Offense looks horrid. 3 seconds left till haftime.

Thanks for the game updates!

I saw this game on Comcast on my Directv menu and thought I'd be able to see it from Houston, but alas, the NFL hosed me.

Nice first half by the Skins offense and defense. Even better was watching the Eagles get creamed in their inaugural game at their new stadium against the Pats.

I appreciate it. The lines looked awesome (both sides...really!) Also, Trung and Coles are simply great. Trung seems to have no problem running up the middle, he can fit through a sliver. I was wondering if its a good idea to do this level of coverage the seond half. The starters are out now.

We have had virtually no penalties. 3 or 4. The line was not great on his runs though. Sultan and Trung look like starters though.

i don't like to see injuries either but, skins have a bit of luck going into the first 2 games, week 1 - no pennington, week 2 - no vick, gotta love it even though.

2cd and 10: false start, offense! I've Jinxed them!
2nd and 15: Russell, nice catch, 5 yard run.
3rd aand 8: Nice first down pass to the right side to patrick woodcock.

1st and 10: Sultan up the middle for a couple.
2nd and 8 on the ravens 34: pass to sultan who catches it and FUMBLES the ball. There's an "Aww *sh$t*!" those negate all the Atta boys...

We looked awesome. Lavar, Bruce Smith and Lewis are at mid field talkin it up.

We really looked good, with few penalties AND a running game. Ramsey looked awesome, our receivers looked great.

The one worry I have is it looked like they really game planned for this. I hope this isn't a false preseason game like last year. If nothing else we looked crisp.
